Our Team

Becca started working for the CACAC in December of 2019 as the Centre Assistant where she coordinates many of the families visits and ensures a comfortable and safe environment for the children and families that come to the Centre. In addition to Centre Assistant, she has also assumed the role of Volunteer Coordinator, is an active Victim Advocate for the Centre, and will be the Primary Handler for our Facility Dog in the future.

Becca previously worked as a Respiratory Therapist for a number of years at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. After some time she knew she needed a change, but wanted to remain helping those in the community. Becca had heard learned about the Centre from her time at the hospital and after hearing more through friends and family, she knew she wanted to become involved.

Becca and her wife were both raised in Red Deer and still live there with their wonderful dog, Nova. Becca is passionate about working for the CAC and providing a trauma informed environment for children and youth as well as their family members.

Kellie joined the CACAC team as Rural Victim Advocate Coordinator in March 2019.

Kellie’s passion to work with children living with childhood trauma began at an early age. Her spark was ignited when she became the babysitter for a foster family in Northers Alberta. Since then Kellie pursued her education in Early Childhood Development, received her Rehabilitation Practitioner Diploma, became a life coach and has been working within the vulnerable sector for over 20 years. Kellie is recognized as a leader, innovator and pioneer within this field. She has witnessed firsthand how individuals, families and communities are affected by family violence, sexual violence and child abuse.

As a survivor of intimate partner violence; she is a strong advocate for raising awareness and public education while helping survivors on their journey of a renewed life. Kellie has sat on numerous committees and sat on the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Board for many years. She stepped down as Co-Chair of the CASAC board in 2019 when she joined the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre team.

Dean is the Director of Education programs for the CACAC. He previously worked for Chinook’s Edge and more recently with Red Deer Public Schools where he has been an educator for thirty years and a principal for over a decade. Dean and his wife are originally from Regina and moved to Red Deer thirty years ago where he and his wife have raised three amazing children.

His life’s work has been about creating learning environments where students feel safe, accomplished, confident and are given the skills to take on the challenges of adulthood. Dean’s vast experiences with systems and the people within them have helped him understand that relationships are a key component in any endeavour. Dean is humbled by the opportunity to continue working with people to make the lives of children better.

Alaine joined the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre May 2018 to help build the business and community development programs with passion and commitment to change in the community.

Alaine has been professional in the philanthropic industry as well as an active community volunteer, chairing and organizing programs in various school, sport and health organizations over the past 28 years. Alaine has been a Central Alberta resident for most of her life, raising two daughters here, supporting them through various school and athletic interests in local, national and international pursuits. The past few years Alaine has given her time as a Victim Advocate with the Sylvan Lake & District Victim Services Unit and the Central AB Victim and Witness Support Society. Her work with the CAC has been a natural fit in her passion for helping others, providing a platform to contribute her leadership and organizational skills to build a legacy to help children and youth.

Jen started working at the CACAC in 2018 as the Community Development Coordinator. She enjoys working with the community and our donors and managing Corporate Giving, Third-Party Events, Monthly Giving and Donation Management.

Her journey with the CACAC began when she was asked to sit on the committee for the Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off and met Mark and Cassandra. Their passion for the cause was infectious and the CACAC quickly became a cause near to her heart. Her background in event management, sponsorship, volunteer management and fundraising led to a position as staff in 2018 when the need for her role at the Centre arose.

Working alongside Mark and the coalition since 2016, Cassandra has been a part of the CACAC since its inception. She recently became the Director of Operations, sits on the CAC Provincial Network and is an awareness advocate for mental health. Watching this organization become a reality through strong community passion for children and youth has made her journey an inspirational one and she feels extremely grateful to work with so many great partners.

Alyssa serves as the Director  of Communications and Community Awareness, where she drives to create, cultivate and amplify the CAC voice. Alyssa is responsible for developing and executing communications and marketing strategies that advocate for the Centre and it’s cause – driving awareness and supporting the efforts of community development.

Prior to joining the CACAC, Alyssa worked in retail management in Calgary, AB, where she quickly realized the need for social change. After heading-up and leading various volunteer initiatives, she decided to make the full switch over to the non-profit sector. Alyssa was introduced to Mark Jones and the CAC world during her final year of school after going back to complete her BBA. Mark invited her for a tour of the Centre to learn more, and within moments she watched as a little one bravely walked down the hall and into the interview room and from that point on she knew she had to be a part of the team.

Alyssa initially stepped into a volunteer role to provide digital media support, and after completing her degree it grew into a full-time role. She now oversees all communications, marketing and media efforts for the Centre, and is a part of the newly established CAC Provincial Voice Network.
